Research

Prof. Stulnig has a vivid interest in promoting internal medicine as revealed by his dedicated scientific activities resulting in numerous publications " most of them appeared in international scientific top-journals. His total impact factor is >600 and his publications have been cited more than 4.000 times.

His exceptionally successful scientific activities have repeatedly been awarded both nationally and internationally. Especially noteworthy is the Novartis Prize for Medicine 2004.

To realize his innovative concepts, Prof. Stulnig was granted support by many renowned organisations with an approved total volume of EUR >2.0 Mio (own shares). 

Prof. Stulnig regularly holds lectures at national and international congresses.

Teaching

Training of students and continuing education of colleagues is a particular concern to Prof. Stulnig, who gives lectures in many graduate and post-graduate courses. For a list of current courses held by Prof. Stulnig at the Medical University of Vienna see here.

Due to his particular interest in training of young medical academics, he has initiated doctoral programs in Endocrinology, Metabolism and Nutrition at the Medical University of Vienna. Current information on the doctoral programs is available in the Internet (PhD, N790).

Furthermore, Prof. Stulnig is faculty member for the elitist doctoral program CCHD - Cell Communication in Health and Diseases

To promote continuing medical education of colleagues, Prof. Stulnig regularly holds courses on lipid disorders, diabetes mellitus, metabolic syndrome and endocrine diseases for the Austrian and Vienneses Medical Association.
